The Piešťany Ice Stadium has been using HIPPOTRON® ICE technology since the 2025/2026 season. The primary goals for implementing this technology were:

- Lowering water consumption.
- Reducing operating costs related to ice surface maintenance.
Benefits After Installation
- Ice Quality: The surface is more uniform, harder, and less prone to unevenness. This is appreciated by both professional athletes and recreational skaters.
- Water Savings: Consumption decreased by approximately 10%, providing both financial savings and ecological benefits.
- Installation and Maintenance: Simple process without the need for significant structural changes.
- Reliability: No significant technical problems were recorded during operation.
- Energy Requirements: Minimal, contributing to efficient stadium operation. Prior to using the technology, the cooling temperature was -8 °C; currently, it is -5.5 °C.
Overall Assessment
Management is very satisfied and has recommended the system to other stadiums. An interesting observation was that during a temporary deinstallation (e.g., for service), ice quality and operating parameters returned to original levels, confirming the technology's benefits.
