We installed the HIPPOTRON® ICE technology on August 17, 2023, just before the start of the main season. Our primary goals were to optimize the ice surface quality and achieve energy savings across our overall operations.
Key Benefits and Operational Experience:
- Enhanced Ice Quality: Immediately after implementation, we noticed a significant improvement in surface properties. The ice is more uniform, harder, and more resistant to grooves and unevenness. These changes have been positively received by both hockey clubs and the public. There is demonstrably less "snow" (abrasion) on the ice after training sessions.
- Efficient Surface Maintenance: Thanks to the use of activated water, the new ice layer freezes visibly faster during resurfacing. This allows us to shorten technological breaks and save time between training sessions and games.
- Energy Savings: The technology allowed us to increase the base slab temperature by an average of 1 °C without degrading the ice parameters. This directly translates to a lower load on the cooling system and an overall reduction in operating costs.
- Seamless Implementation: Installation was very fast—within a few hours—without the need for any structural changes or interventions in the stadium's existing technology. The equipment is easy to operate, and we have recorded no technical issues throughout its operation.
