HIPPOTRON® ICE Technology Performance Report
The HIPPOTRON® ICE technology has been in use here since December 2023. Key observations and technical improvements include:
- Immediate Results: After planing the ice following installation, the ice became more transparent, produced less "snow" (abrasion), and the water froze faster.
- Temperature Consistency: Ice temperature became more consistent across the entire surface. Previously, differences of up to 1.5 °C were measured; now the difference is at most 0.5 °C.
- Concrete Slab Temperature: The temperature of the base slab was raised by 1 °C (to -7 °C) and by 2 °C during frost (to -6 °C).
- Energy Savings: These adjustments resulted in electricity savings of approximately 15%.
- Efficiency: Preparation time before the season and maintenance during the season have both been shortened. The surface is described as more uniform and elastic.
